Helping our own Americans

We have people without homes in many place in the South, and now the Midwest. My heart goes out to all those people who have lost everything. But wait, they are still here. They are alive and in finding Ralph Waldo Emerson's saying called Be Thankful, For every new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and foodm for love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends.
It reminded me that despite the sorrow, there is light and many things to be thankful for.
But let's concentrate on helping these folks. Right now from what I gather, the best thing to do is send money to the Red Cross. Other types of donations will be needed in the near future but with entire towns devastated, there's no place to store stuff. So send the money. The Red Cross is a trusted organization and will get it where needed.
